My brother is working on a template for woodgrain dash kits for D1s (on a whim). The last thing bugging him is the wood on the gear selector. Is this easily removed? Since he's doing this as a project he doesn't want to screw up my selector. Looking for a little input. Anyone ever do this?

Jack, any samples? The woodgrain on my 98 Disco just cracked from the freakin cold!

We're still in the "demo" ramp up stage. We decided to do this a few days before xmas. He photographed the inside of the truck and I've provided him with the measurements. We live in different cities so leaving my truck or meeting up is difficult. Hang loose and I will let everyone know.
