Sorry for so many posts over the months on my 95 Disco but battery dies if not run every day. New battery, rebuilt alternator, shows resting backdraw of 3.3 amps!

Hooked up a little trailer sidemarker light for a test light and checked under hood fuses and fuses in compartment. Big fuse for AC stops problem. 20 amp trailer light fuse stops drain.

Pulling the 20 amp fuse kills trailer lights, radio, and clock display(not the clock backlight-just the numeric display). I guess I can live this way until I get to end of trouble.

Radio is after market and while I can't be sure the trouble started about then, I wonder? How did clock and radio end up on trailer light circuit?

Any similar experiences?

check the trailer wiring harness for crap in the plug or for any problems in that area. Also check the radio wiring harness. Sounds like the radio could have a pinched wire in the back between the chassis.

Interesting, mabey you would try to pull the ac compressor clutch relay, then replace the fuse, does this help?

Good suggestions. Will have the stereo pulled and probably rewired. Will also check AC but if the trailer light fuse solves it doesn't this take the AC out of contention?

BTW, the clock works on the switched ignition circuit with the trailer fuse out. When ignition is on the lights and numerals work but always start back at 1:00 Pretty strange huh?

One more data point- when fuse is in and either front door is open the little test light flashes.
