I mean never have I had a problem with my 2000 D2, 35K, (with air springs) except at 2K I had to change the radiator. Is there a problem here because I always hear about eletrical problems, ECU problems, lights going on in dash problems, leaky this, leaking that. Also that LRs are unrealiable. Am I lucky or should my LR have problems. I really beat the shit out of it on and off road, and I have a new scratch like every couple days. I know the air springs will be a problem in the future but for now my truck is a fucking tank and it never even murmurs!! |

Hummm, I have made a decision to dump mine today after it ate another set of tires within 32K miles. Lets see, I was not happy with the rocker arms failing at 20K miles and the dealer has told me I better get my heads redone within warranty since all have valve problems within 60K miles. Also, had failures in the power sunroofs, mirror controls, and a few major recalls. The near $500 30,000 miles service also gave me heartburn (just to change fluids and 2 filters). So, I took it the carmax and they will cut me a check for $20K for my cream puff 99 Disco II. I wish it would have worked out but I cannot trust the reliability of this vehicle - I am now looking at Honda Pilots and Toyota Highlanders. I wish I was rich and could afford such a toy - but I guess it is time to grow up! |

Help! there must be something radically wrong with my truck. 99D1 94K and one set of brake pads, one set of tires. no oil leaks. maybe it's all going to brake at the same time. Dude, It's like any other make, some have issues, some more than others. You hear about all the problems here because that's what you do. You come here for the answers. I'v had many GM products's and fords that had all the issues you listed above. Gabe |

Mine has also been perfect: I bought my '00 with 9K. Five days later my air susp. went to hell on a trail in Moab. It was not a problem because they towed it back home (SLC) and had a loaner waiting for me. Paid $360 for a one day rental car (Moab to SLC), and paid my meals and hotel. No problem. When it went in to fix the air spring, they found a seeping block. New engine. No problem. Then at $18K my rear diff blew. The dealer is too cool: they put in a Detroit TT under warranty. No Problem. Now at 36K, my radiator is crap. No real story here. I just get another - no problem. I do not want to list all of the troubles I have had with any American steel I have owned. Suffice it to say that the US cars were problems and the dealers were all pretty bad. My Rover is a dream in comparison. Curtis |

I'm with Curtis on this one...front drive shaft blew apart and took out the transmission, both cats at 27k...replaced under warranty, no questions asked about the Tru-tracs, hd axles and 4.11 gears, lots of small problems, but never a question about fixing any of them...Lots of other trucks out there, but I'll never trade my DII for anything... ...and Frank has good reason to speak. His is the only rig I know of towed from Indiana?? to Salt Lake with transmission fluid all over the underside I saw his rig getting the 4.11's and TT's in. It is nice and has probably only got nicer. Curtis |

Damn man, I thought it was East of here. Boise is NW and I thought you were coming from NY. Are you sure about that? Biose is also a pretty easy drive and you told me what they charged you for that little haul Happy Holidays to you as well and good to hear about the new tires. What did you have to do to make them fit? Curtis |

Sorry Curtis, it was Omaha, Boise was a different trip...Anyways, the Yoko's fit with the HD OME springs. They rub a little on the washer bottle, but I'm moving that to sovle that problem... Cheers, Frank |

Bought a new series 11 td5 November 2001, havn't had a problem yet. I get to drive it pretty hard here with open speed limit and reasonably hard off-road. With 3 year warranty and road side assist, if it turns out to be a lemon after 3 yrs i'll trade it on on something else. Can't see it happening though! All up I got a great car, just hope it is a reflection on what landrover are turning out and not just a lucky buyer on the day as many will suggest. |
