What are the problem areas?

Author Message   Richard Posted on Friday, December 27, 2002 - 04:53 pm:    I am thinking of selling my 91 trooper and buying a discovery tdi about a 94. I am fed up welding up the trooper. Is the discovery as bad for chassis rust? What are the main problem areas to look for on this age of disco? I was told the gearbox splines wear badly, is this a major problem with them?
