I took off my sway bars a while ago, but at the time I couldn't wrench off the figure eight bracket that bolts to the axle. I just folded them up out of the way and they didn't cause any problems, but bothered me a little. I finally got a hold of an impact wrench and popped off those pesky nuts with the cotter pins but now the figure-eight braket still seems stuck. Can you remove the plastic disk on the back of the bolt? Is it threaded through the piece welded to the axle? Any help would be much appreciated. thanks and happy trails. |

might the info I seek be in the shop manual or is that sort of thing not covered? (ok, I admit it, that was just a bump question) |

from what I've heard (but have not done), you just need to unbolt & then whack the shit out of it. |

yeah, you have to break it loose from the hole. If you don't plan on using it again, just beat it 'til it falls off...maybe I could phrase that a little better, but you get the idea. |
