Sorry guys, this might be very basic. I've been noticing a build up of acid (or something powdery) on my battery terminals lately. What exactly does this mean. thanks guys. |

It's sulfuric acid condensation from your lead cell battery. It's pretty normal, just don't get it on your skin, clothes, or paint. You can use a spray cleaner from a parts store, or just some warm water with baking soda in it to wash it off. Don't let the cat lick up the powder though... |

I have found that if you put some petrol jelly on the terminals, you will never have that problem again or even worse your truck not start because of that crap on the terminals. |

Check the water level in your battery as well and top off if needed. With distilled water only. |

Thanks guys, I've heard of the baking soda and petrol jelly things but just wasn't shure if it was also a warning sign of some problem. I guess the concensus is its not anything to worry about. Thanks again. |
