I do a lot of trail ridding. Nothing too extreme, but I recently sank my rover!!! The right header is cracked almost all the way around!! My 97 Disco sounds like a Hemi...Rednecks are really diggin it....but am I damaging anything( other than the environment) by driving the Rover? Would love to hear from you if you have had to replace headers before or know any temp fixes????How does something like this happen? My guess is hot engine meets cold water and WAH-LAH!!Cracked Headers???Thanks for any help...matt |

Rover exhaust manifolds crack, regardless of use/abuse, but if you went wading, that'd help it along.... JB-weld it.... ROTFL! J/K.... seriously, locate another manifold and swap 'em.... You're really not damaging things in the really short-term, but, it could have consequences for cats, O2 sensors, hearing, etc., in the long run... IMHO, FWIW.... -L |

Is it a perm fix if i just get it welded back....water tight? I like this idea better because of the $$$$$!! How much do headers run?? Know of any better brand? |

A cracked manifold allows cool air back into the system and causes the valves to warp. You can run for a short time with a cracked manifold, but not long. Thanks, Mike B. |
