Hi, I am going to be moving back to Canada in a few months, and with Premium Petrol at 83 cents a litre, vs. about 46 cents for Propane, I started looking into the propane conversion kits. I have found several UK sites that sell the conversion kit, does anyone know of any US or Canadian retailers that do? Anyone have any experience with the conversions? I know you lose some performance, etc., but I figure for driving to work, I don't need to get there faster anyway--and when I need the performance, I can run premium petrol. Thanks,

i have not seen any LP conversion kits specifically for LR's but they are around. I own a plow truck that was purchased from a defunked gas distributor.. it runs on a 40 gallon LP tank in the rear bed.. this thing is bullet proof.. it starts up on 2 seconds of cranking no matter how long it has sat... with tank and manifold should cost you about $1500... call any large LP company and they can probably point you in the direction of a distributor to purchase it.. they will probably even be able to install it for you.

The propane is really good at keeping your engine clean so if you are going to keep your car for a while its a good thing to use. you just loose power and mileage with it. I used to work for a propane company suburban propane and I filled tons of trucks with propane burning engines some had 250 gallon tanks that would go for 500 or so miles before needing to be filled

Thanks for everyones response. Does anyone know if the ECU has to be re-chipped in order to run the dual fuel system?
