Anyone have the story on the Trac Edge? I know BFGoodrich had disconntinued it, and replaced it with a new tire. They had even changed their website, removing the trac edge from the commercial tires page and replacing it with the new tire. However, the Web Site has been changed again, and now displays the TracEdge.
Did BFG Reconsider? Did they lose their website, and restore from old data? I've e-mailed BFG twice, but no response in weeks, and was wondering if anyone had the dope onthese tires? Thanx.... |

I have the phone number to their customer relations office, 1-877-788-8899, which they gave me in answer to an email I sent them about the speed rating on their AT/KO's. They appariently didn't want to give the answer out via email. Let us know what you find out!

Hey Bob,
Thanx for the Number. I Called and spoke to them and they confirmed that the Trac Edge has indeed been Discontinued. The Representative told me that they had put the Trac Edge Tires back on the site because of requests from Tire owners for information on the tires.
She could not explain why the Trac Edge's replacement, the Traction T/A had its information had been removed from the Commercial Tires page. She of course tried to push the new Traction T/A saying it only had minor changes and that they were only improvements on the 28 year old Trac Edge Design. Personally, it looks like an even lower void area tread pattern to me. Anyhow, that�s the information I got, for what its worth to anyone...

Don't worry about it. Get the Dunlop Rover R/T's.
If you must have the Trac Edge, give Ray Woods at www.wiseowlparts.com a call to see his inventory.
He bought a lot. Doesn't have 235/85R16's anymore, but did have 7.5R16's. |

That Traction T/A is FUGLY, and looks like it would be worthless offroad. |
