Hi, I have a Disco 94 - 8i, as you guess, I'm looking some way to save some money in fuel .... Could I use Unload 87 fuel in my disco ? Thanks Everybody Fernando Miller - [email protected] |

Check your owners manual, but if it's the same 3.9 "B" suffix motor as in the '95, you should use 90 octane and above. Low octane gas predentonates and will burn up your motor. |

IMHO, no. I was an advocate for using mid-grade in Discos when I first had my '99 SD.... it started developing valve issues, so I switched to high and they abated for awhile.... but it later reoccurred.... I believe that the 4.0 really has to have the higher grades.... I think the 3.9 is okay on mid-grade, not as prone to the valve problems, but I wouldn't run regular in either engine.... IMHO, FWIW, YMMV....... -L |
