My d/s headlight got cracked and now it doesn't work if it's rainy or moist out. Do I have to replace the entire headlight assembly or just the bulb?

Thanks!

he's right, moisture is getting thru the crack and blowing that hot hallagon bulb.

Headlamp is not $100 - $56 from Nathan for "E" spec!

What's "E" spec? I have a stock 95 Disco.

Thanks!

E spec means that it is a European headlight.

The US DOT light regs suck, to be honest. The European lights put more light out on the road, while having a good cut-off to keep the lights out of oncoming drivers' eyes. Much better.

While illegal, the E-code lamps wouldn't be noticed by anyone, except that you would see better at night.

FWIW....

I've got the same problem with a crack/chip on my 95, however the moisture on the inside of the lamp hasn't toasted my bulb yet. The chip is quite small, I was thinking about trying a CB fix and using one of those glass chip repair kits they sell at Wally World or Kame Apart. Anybody think it will work?

How can I contact Nathan? I need both headlights. $56 sounds like a good price.

If I change the one cracked headlight to "E" spec, does that mean I should change the other one as well? Would you be able to notice the difference if they were not a matched set?

[email protected] is his address. http://www.discountrovers.com is the website. limited parts listed on the site though.

don't know if the E codes look all the different, but for $56 you may as well get both and sell the other one here.

Mary

Should have clarified - I'm sure Nathan can also get you NAS spec headlamps. I just ordered an "E" spec one today to replace a cracked one (hot light and cold water don't mix well - doh!)

BTW - I have an extra NAS drivers side for $20 if anyone wants.
