I am in process of my annual Disco upgrade, and will be adding 3 inch Rovertym springs and radius arms. My question for anyone who has done this is: What is your experience with the front drive shaft? I am thinking of changing to a double cardon, but so far nobody can tell me if its mandatory, better, or a waste of time. I would appreciate info.

Mark-
You won't know about the DC shaft until the new springs and arms are on. Some seem to get away w/ the factory shaft, some don't. Wait and see what sort of angles the factory shaft is at after the lift, and decide from there.

Craig,

Thats what I've been told. Do you know what specific problems show up?

I have the RT 3" lift and love it. "If" you need to replace the drive shaft you will feel a vibration. I went with the EE retainers and quick releases on the sway bars. I have a ton of flex and 235/85s with no rubbing (GCR rims). You will love it.

Mike,
Do you have a pic of your Disco with the lift and tires?

Mark-
Depends on what your pinion angle looks like after the new springs and arms have moved the axle. DC driveshafts will vibrate unless the pinion angle is as close to zero as you can get it. (pinion pointing directly at output flange of t-box). Just see what it looks and feels like after the lift.

All,

Thanks for the info - I appreciate it. I went for linear rate springs in the front, and heavier progressive rate rears. I do a lot of multi day, very loaded trips, so I need the extra beefyness in the back.
