I have a 95 disco with 109K miles and I hear a clunk sound on acceleration and on decel.Any suggestions?? I called the dealer and they wanted $300 to take the front end apart becase they thought it was the CV or an axel problem (I just laughed of course). Is this possible or is it something else???

It comes from the front right side.

Maybe it's driveline lash.

I had my '98 in for servicing and mentioned that there was a 'clunk' in the front end. They re-torqued the front end suspension bolts - 'clunk' was gone.

If you have the factory manual with torque settings - woudl be cheap work to do at home.

Radius arm bushings. Bolts might be loose too, try that first. If that doesn't work, it's probably the bushings.

Thanks, I'll re torque everything ASAP and see if that works.
