I have the materials available to make a sway bar disconnect over the weekend - or maybe next weekend. Anyway, one thing I have not seen actually addressed before; the simple question of what do you actually do with the bar once it is disconnected? Do you actually take it all the way off the frame too, and stick it on the roof rack while on the trail? Or do you just rotate it up and tie it out of the way while on the trail? I have not seen any photos of it disconnected from the frame, only from the axle.

I generally have mine off all the time as it doesn't hamper the handling w/ my rovertym springs, I have it rotated up and zip tied to the frame.

Well, when I had mine on and I would disconnect them, the front would remain in place by itself. For the rear, I fabbed a bracket so I could rotate it up and attach to the "L" bracket. Only need to do one side. Oh, I have a DII.

I just put some on my Disco last week. When I put them on, I put the bushings in, then never put the pin in. I haven't tied my sway bars up yet, but I will, since I am going to just leave them undone. After upgrading to the OME HD springs the ride was quite stiffer, then after disconnecting the sway bars, it seems to be slightly mushier than before. It works for me, and tracking is just fine.

BTW Britt, myself and my brother-in-law are heading out tomorrow. We are meeting at the Washington side of the Bridge of the gods at 9 am if you want to join us.

I took off, completely, both the front and rear bars. I've had the rear off for 2 years, the front for a bit over a year. It doesn't bother me on the road, but then, I don't drive like a maniac. There is more lean on turns, but that doesn't bother me. I suppose in an emergency, it may be an issue, but I do my best to drive aware (I've only had to panic brake or swerve about 3 times in the past year in everyday Atlanta traffic), so the risk, vs not having to remove and reinstall them is worth it to me.

If I die in a horrible rollover, I'll take back everything I just said. ;-)

You may want to think about securing the quick disconnects since someone decided they liked mine and took them, even the crappy bushings were gone as well. Unfortunately, this happened while at an overnight weekend event. Oh well, I have to assemble some new ones also, but this time, they will be locked.

Has anyone diconnected their anti-sway bars on a Dll with a 2"OME lift AND with SLS? Any problems? I.E. are extended brake lines required for the previously mentioned set up? Thanks.
David
