Hey Guys,

I had this problem w/my 95 disco about a year ago. The car hesitates when under load(especially at take off), sometimes backfires if you try to gun it, but overall it has no power. If you open the hood on a dark night, you can see sparks jumping from the wire that runs from the coil to the distributor to anywhere the wire runs close to a ground. Sparks also jump from this wire to other sparkplug wires and to the power terminals of the coil. These sparks are a lot more obvious when you accelerate (put the engine under load). So about a year ago I bought a new set of 8.5mm wires and the problem went away(for a while). Now it just started again, I don't think the wires are doing it. Anyone had a similar experience???
I thank you in advance for any suggestions.

What kind of 8.5mm wires did you buy?

I would tie that coil wire as far from any metal that I can get. On my Disco, I have a peice of the split plastic wire loom on it besides having it separated from the metal. Good luck

sounds like the new wires are junk to.

jacobs electronics make great wires

they never arc

and they are lifetime warrentee

send them back for ANY reason they replace them
