Anyone changed over to coils and took SLS off? How can I get part #s for spring seats and use RTE springs? My compressor box is lookin pretty bad and after shearing off my sensor (75.00) I now know how easy I could be in a world of shit on the trail, one rock can easy put you on your bumpstops. I think I should switch to coils for piece of mind. I drilled a slot into the broken shaft of the sensor so I can turn it with a screw driver, so I can get the sensor to pump up till new part arrives. I'll throw it in my trail box for future mishaps on the trail. Darryl Pictures of this weekends trip to Potts Jeep Trai:http://members.cox.net/swva4w1/potts_031702/potts_031702_5.htm |

So I can use RTE spacers instead of seats? Maybe thats the ticket. I have RTE spacers for my SLS giving me my 3 inch lift which wont work as seats for springs, I think. Darryl |

sorry for the confusion. i have a disco1. apparently the spring seats are interchangeable between disco1 and disco2. so i gave away my spring seats to a disco2 w/ SLS user, that person took out the air bag and went with coils + my spring seats. the airbag spacer that you have is only good for the airbag. you have to get spring seats. hope that clears. |

John at RTE has everything necessary for coil conversion. Now do I really want to trash SLS? Man I never want to be "LET DOWN" on the Trail again, coils will cure that but what about ride, lean, wheelablity, also I never cut loose sway bar in rear (DII) and would like to, so with airbags it would seem less flex to be had than springs (just quessing) Darryl (with the temporary low rider) |
