I found a very cool add-on for my disco nad thought I woud share it. It's off a GM so I'm sure you can find one at a salvage yard.

This is sort of a follow up of an older thread that went into the archives.

Actually it's off of Ford trucks up here. I have one on my Bronco. Indeed a very cool item and it stands up to mud and water well.

That looks identical to the one on my friend's Suburban's firewall. Don't know how well it works but it looks like a great idea.

I got it in the mail today and ut says ford on it. I guess Ford and GM both offered this option.

It's a light with retractable 12ft or so cord and a magnet on the light, so you can pull it out and clamp it on anything metal around your vehicle. This leaves your hands free and cne be positioned almost perfect for any job. There's a mrecury (or similar) switch in the housing, so the light goes off when you close the hood - just like any other under-hood light. Sound cool?

I think those on GMs were retro-fitted (by owner) Ford items, but I could be mistaken.
