Has anyone fabricated a hiLift mounting point on the spare wheel carrier. There are Kaymar and other products out there that will allow you to carry your HiLift vertically on the behind the spare tire. I realise it may stick out above the roof line a little, but for those of us without roof racks, is there a better way to carry a hilift?? Tricky |

Tricky, some mount it to the rear bumper. a lot of people don't like the $G style hilift carrier because it adds lot's of weight to the rear door, and it apparently rattles. But I can't say, that without a roof rack, you don't have too many options. |

I dont know how the D2 is but I just drilled the front bumper on my D1 and put the jack on with carriage bolts and put nylon bushings on each side of the bumper to keep it from rattlin'and secured it with wingnuts on the back side so it doesn't look as easy to steal! I also used a coupler and threaded it all the way on to space the jack away from the bumper. Justin |
