I usually get off-road about twice a month and was wondering what kind of maintenance I was suppose to do after I hit the trails. I do get in some mud, some rock, and alittle of whatever else I can find. I know to do the usuall stuff like change the oil, filters, etc(maintenance that is said in the manual). I was just wondering what else I need to do. Thanks. Todd |

I tend to pay special attention to the things below the waistline of the truck after going out in the mud and/or water. Wheel bearings and seals Diff oil Ujoints and Driveshafts Tranny and TCase oils Axle breathers Ball joints and steering linkages low-lying electricals like abs sensors and headlamp switches. You might also want to spend some time waterproofing your ignition before you go and making sure your door seals and such are in good order. Also, wash your truck's underside and engine bay when you get home. It makes it a lot eaiser to spot problems if your truck is somewhat clean. I'm not saying you need to detail it, but make sure can see an oil slick in progress! Good luck, -P |
