I was just talking about this with one of the people here who used to be a tech in the UK. Basically what he said was that 200Tdi autos and 300Tdi autos before the EDC (electric diesel control, which came on the last 300Tdi discos) were SLOW. Also I think 200Tdi autos are fairly rare as they were only available toward the end of 200Tdi production. However, the zf auto is very strong and the LT230 mated to the zf are much less likey to have input spline wear so it is a better tranny than the LT77 (200Tdi) or R380 (300Tdi). Also keep in mind that in the UK the auto was a fairly high dollar option when new so they might be more expensive (I dunno for sure though). As far as the engine, just make sure it has had the repair kit done to the timing belt and that the timing belt gets changed as recommended.

If you do buy this disco I would be interested to find out where the engine is placed (rearward more like the 200Tdi/Lt77 or forward like the 300Tdi) and if you could post back when you find out that would be cool.
