Anybody know the bolt size & thread pitch for the 3rd member mounting bolts located on the housing? (--- for Disco 1, D90, Rangie Classic) Troy |

9/16" x 18 tpi (fine thread) Use Nyloc bolts or blue loctite. -P |

Addendum: The bolts on the axle housing are 5/16". So if you are buying the nuts by tread size, you need to be buying 5/16"x18 tpi. If you are buying them the normal way, which is to say sized by the actual size of the nut between the flats, you'll be looking for 9/16" x 18 tpi. -P |

Actually, I'm buying a die to rethread the tip of one of the studs, so does that mean I need the 9/16" x 18? Troy |

No, The stud is 5/16" x 18. Dies come in thread sizes, not nut sizes. Can you tell how many threads are messed up? If its only the first couple, it may be more effective to simply file them off completely and let the nut begin to engage further down the stud. -P |

Thanks, I didn't realize that. Taking the nut off didn't "feel" right from the start, but only the 1st 3 rows of threads from the tip appear to boogered up. I'll do one of the two options. Thanks for the help- Troy |
