can someone tell me what driving lights come as an option on the discovery. They look oversized and have cross grille on them. I would like to get a set for my 97 disco and like the looks of these. Does anyone know the brand and where I can get them. Don't want to go to the dealer.

thanks,

I think that they are using Hella 5000s.. I would get some Hella 4000s which are much better lights.. I think that you can also order a mesh grill for them as well so that they will have the look that you are after.. Any online off road store will have them, and most stores that sell Hella's can get them for you too..

thanks, those are exactly what I have been looking for. Are the Hella 4000 as large as these? Maybe I should go with the 4000's since I think i want driving lights for high beam instead of fogs for low beam. with them up on the brush bar, i can only imagine how much i'm going to get flashed by everyone thinking my high beams are on.

also, has anyone fitted Hella fog lights in the factory fog light spots since the stock lights suck.

thanks

You can get the 4000s in pencil, euro, cornering, and fog beams and yes they are large lights.

Whoa!, these are LR Safari 5000's and they are the option offered on the Disco and the Range Rover. They are awful if you purchase them as fogs, this is due to the height of them sitting on the brushgaurd. Land Rover Safari 5000's came in two styles, Fogs and Driving lights. If you look closely to the lense pattern you will notice the difference between the two. They are very costly if you purchase them from the dealer, or any other vendor for the matter. If you hang out in the forsale section you may catch them being sold on the regular. EricN put you in the right direction as to choosing the Hella 4000's, but you may not want to run them as fogs daily.......Get them and you will enjoy them, but only when you really need them, they are too bright to run nightly.....(my opinion).
