Does anyone know of a canopy type of cover that would attach to the side or back of the DII? I am looking for something to hide from the sun under while camping or tailgating. Thanks, Jason |

I have a 10x10 folding canopy that I have been using for years. I got it at Walmart. It's like this one http://shop.store.yahoo.com/aysostore/weekender10x10.html |

That would do the trick and I will buy one if I can't find the type that attaches to the rover. I can't be sure, but I could have sworn that I saw a canopy that actually attaches to the truck and only used two instead of four poles... |

ravensjk, The "Tomb Raider" Defender had one strapped to the side of the roof rack. You'll probably find them on LROI or LR enthusiast mags. I think they're more common in europe. Good luck! Let us know what you end up getting. I really like them too, - but too lazy to search. -glenn |

Here is the Tomb Raider Defender... Note the "cylindrical" tube along the right side attached to the rack....

There is one made that works with Hannibal roof racks and tents that pulls out on the side of the rover. It is self sufficient and doesn't require additional poles, although I'm not sure if it would work without the rack. You could check with a Hannibal dealer to find out. |

Geez you guys....I know I'm cheap, but I have a plastic tarp that's rolled onto a 3/4" piece of PVC that fits inside a 4" piece with a slot cut in one side and caps glued to both ends. Pull out the end of the tarp, stick two poles into the gound, secure with a couple o' pieces of rope and yer set. |

Keith, April 15th is OK, not much camping before then up here in Canada as the snow is too far down. You can email me off board if you like at [email protected] or post here as Im sure others would be interested in your solution. Trevor |

Almost found what I am looking for. http://www.offroadstore.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Roof_Racks_and_Roof_Tents_15.html Look about halfway down at the Eezi-Awn Awning. Looks like it is for the Defender and must be used with the rack though. Still searching... jason |

Jason, If you are looking for a roll out shade, you might like to try looking at the ones that they mount to the VW Westfalia Vans. Nice looking units. Not sure of the cost. If you find anything please let us know. Thanks Trevor |
