Hi, I hit a deer this weekend so now I have to get a new front bumper. I am new to off roading and my 95 d1 is mainly stock. My question is, I want a good bumper that I can put a winch in but, I am not sure I ready to use a winch yet. Is it best to get the winch and bumper at the same time or can I wait on the winch? Also if I don't get a winch in the bumper, can I leave the springs and shocks stock? Or is the weight to much even without a winch in a winch Arb bumper or zbar bumper from rovers north to use without heavy duty springs? Thanks for any help. Andy 95 d1 |

First you should get a suspension kit and then get the bumper. If you put any heavy duty bumper on, your front end will sag. I would go with OME kit and ARB front bumper. tommy |

Andy, If you are interested in my stock bumper w/ spoiler, endcaps, etc., let me know. I will give you a good deal just to get it out of the garage. -Marc [email protected] |

Sorry no, I am thinking that this deer accident will be my excuse for me to get a lift and heavy duty front bumper. My wife was driving when we hit the deer. She was impressed how little damage we did to the truck from hitting a 125 lbs (approx.) doe at 50 mph. I think I convinced her that a heavy duty front bumper would have even protected us more. So now I can "ruin" the disco even more. ;-) Andy |

well, Andy - that works out perfect - you can use her guilt over messing up your truck to get a sweet bumper. my advice - get the bumper and upgrade your suspension at the same time. If cost is a big concern, just get the fornt suspension now and rear in a few months. And do it yourself, it isn't that hard. -marc |

Okay, what would a good lift be? I want to handle a heavyduty bumper and don't want to have many drivetrain problems or needs for major modifications. So the 6 inch lift is out. I want to also keep some what close to a stock ride. I have 245/70/16's on the truck now. This is a daily driver. Andy D1 |

Andy, don't know if you want to go this way, but RN has a non-winch ARB bumper for sale in the bargin loft. Of course, couldn't add a winch later though. |
