Need to replace my stock DII tires, which tire should I go with. The Michelin XPC, Goodyear Wrangler HP or Pirelli Scorpion ST, all of them are 255/65/16, price is about the same as well. What is the better tire, I currently have the Wrangler HP's (stock from LR) and they only got about 30k miles before replacement.

Go with the XPC's. In my opinion Michelin makes the best tire, and the XPC is the tip of the sword. I work with and consult with many mechanics and they all agree with me.
My 2 cents.

I have the Pirelli scorpions cause I got a much better deal on them. I can't believe the Michelens are in the same price range as the pirellis. I payed about 70.00 per tire and i think the tire shop wanted 135.00 each for the Michelens.

I'm running the Pirelli scorpions S/T's

Great tires, on par with the Michelins, but stay far away from the Goodyear, the name says it all, good for one year!!!

The Pirelli's are real aggresive in rain, snow, ice and dry conditions, plus they'll last a hell of alot longer than the Goodyears and they are only $120 from tirerack.com.

I spent $550 to with all shipping charges via fed-ex groud 2-day, odered them on monday, had them by weds, were on the truck thursday. My local Winston tire shop charged me another $80bucks to mount, install, disposal and balance, total investment about $630.

LandRover San Jose wanted $1000bucks just for 4 new goodyears not including install, bawhahaha what a joke they are, and their mechs suck too, always braking things that were'nt broke, leaving the truck greasy, and it always takes them three service visits not just to fix the problem, but just to find the problem!!!!

My advice, go with the Pirelli's and stay away from LRSJ, cause they both suck, imo!

Jack,

Do you go off-road, or is your DII just an on-road vehicle? Consideration of use is important here.

The Pirelli is a street tire. Fine tire for the money, on blacktop. Don't plan on any serious off-road work with them, though.

The XPC is supposed to be discontinued, but it's still in their catalog... I dunno. LTX is quite like it. Michelins are great tires, although pricey. You get what you pay for. You might look at the Cross-Terrain. Ho likes them. :)

If you want something with a lot of bite off-road, then THAT'S a different tire discussion...lol...
