Im considering buying steel rims. The 15x7 seem less expensive. What is the tallest/skinniest tire I can fit on a Disco I (with 2 inch RT lift)using 15x7?
With the 16x7 I am considering 235/85/16.
Please comment and suggest!

jose. also consider the 265/75/16 on that 16X7 rim. i have been mulling this over for a little while and after talking to others i think i am going with that size. it is about the same height as the 235, but a full inch wider. it will vary a little depending on tire maker. with the coopers i am getting there were more load ratings available as well.
FWIW.

I just got a set of GCR 16x7 rims and went with the MTR's in 265/75 last week.. I love the look that they give the truck and the wider stance feels a little better on the road.. Can't wait to get it on the trail to see what they can do and if I trimmed enough for them.

I have RTE 3 inch HD front, "not so" HD rear. Plus, one inch spacers.. I got the GCRs cause I wanted the offset to help with the lift a little for those off camber times.

ya, they look alot better then the 225/75s did with the 4 inches of lift.. Had the Ford F250 look going.. :) They still look a little small though.. That will change when I get new gears though and get bigger meats under there.
