I had OME springs installed the other day and my drivers side, front and rear, sit about 1 inch higher. I was told by the person who installed it that because my Disco has the rear AC that there is a spacer under the spring. I know the drivers side is suppose to sit a little higher to accomodate the driver weight but my skinny butt doesn't weigh enough to drop the Disco with HD springs an inch!! Something to do with keeping the AC unit level. Anyone heard of this? I did check the springs and they are placed correctly. The drivers side springs are on the drivers side.

Thank you..

I had a similar tilt with my D1 after installing OME MD shocks and springs. Expedition Exchange sells OME "Trim Packers". They are spacers you put on the shorter rear spring to level things out. I used a 10mm trim packer and had good results. I just installed a 2nd battery... With the trim packer on the passenger side and the new battery on the drivers side, my disco sits nice and level.
I don't know about the "AC" explination. Maybe some else out here can comment on the.

Hey Lester,

I read on the EE that this was something that happens, and I got nervous because I was waiting for my HD OME springs at the time. Apparently OME makes the drivers side springs, front and rear, a little higher for some reason. EE sells them matched but I haven't heard of anyone else doing this. When I recieved mine I noticed that the drivers side springs were noticably taller. But when I installed them it all seemed to level out. No rear AC unit and I haven't heard anything about the AC unit thing. They do sell trim packers like Dave said, so you could either order them or, return one front and one rear and tell the company you ordered them from to send you the matching set. Good Luck and hope this helped

I thought it was the same reason that old SAAB 900's don't sit level. They have a Panhard rod transverse link on the rear suspension. When the bushings are loaded (always) it tilts the body slightly relative to the rear axle. At least that's what happens on the SAABs, and on my D1.

This looks fine and dandy on a stock truck to keep it level, but in time they list. The OME's are handed the same as the stockers and they list too. I think this is one of the most annoying genuine features. call John Lee and order some trim packers to level out.

It was designed to counter act the uneven weight distribution but ,as you can see, it just tilts...

Oh, and the rear axle has no panhard rod in the rear...
