The rear window seals for the cargo area are starting to split really bad. How difficult is it to replace them myself or should I bring it in and have someone else do it? They've gone past the point of filling them with silicone. Are the seals expensive as well? |

Mine were the originals ('94) and I had them replaced two years ago. I bought the seals at the then nearest dealer (200miles away) and had a local auto glass guy come out to do the installation. He apparently did a poor job as they are failing again! After watching him do it, I will replace the next set myself as there's nothing magic to it. A little lubricant and a piece of cord (and an extra set of hands) and I'm ready to go. |

Is it just pressure fitted on? What is the chord for? |

take windows out of truck and remove old seal. put the new seal on the window that's been removed from truck. wrap the string (cord) around the perimeter of the entire window/seal combo. put the window/seal combo into place on the body with the extra string hanging to the outside of the truck. start pulling the string as you work your way around the window, this will set the seal lip in place. when the string is out and in your hand, the window has been installed. |
