I am thinking about getting a jack all to replace my bottle jack in my truck. The only thing is i still have stock bumpers. I found a curved bumper adapter for DAP. Can the stock bumpers take such a force or is it likely that i will bend the bumpers and such.

nick, i'd keep a bottle jack no matter what.
jack all can do amazing things. but can't replace a bottle jack.

i jacked up my rear bumper once, and had to jump on it about 10 times to bend it back down afterwards...

so take that as a "yes" but it will bend..

For several reasons, I'm not anxious to put on after market bumpers (for one, I don't want to futz with the funtionality of the air bags, for another, damn it, I paid a lot of money to get a truck with headlight spritzers).

Anyway, it seems I read on this board some time ago that you could use rock sliders as a jacking point for the Hi-Lift or the Jack All jacks. If so, which brand of rock sliders is the best?

Thanks,

Norm

Not sure what are the best, but I've got the RTEs and I use my floor jack to run the truck up on each side using the slider. I'd bet 95% of the sliders out there would work this way. RTE protrudes a bit for side protection so it's easy to get to it.

Oh....well, I take that back....didn't read your post....actually might be tough to get in there with a hi-lift.

I've highlifted off the RTE sliders a bunch - between the outrigger and the slider is a perfect spot to put the lift arm of the jack.

You mentioned that curved bumper adapter: Forget it. It is useless with the stock setup -- avoid it. And it is useless from the side as well. Waste of money.

Rock sliders are the ticket for a jacking point -- at least from the sides. The front or rear bumper.... well, those will eventually have to go.
