Anybody running these tires? Nice and tall, but skinny. What sort of lift/cutting would be required to run them? I have run TSLs on other vehicles before and think they are great.

Where can I find Interco TSLs in 265 75 or 235 85 r16?

Ron,

Head over to interco's site and stare at those tables for about 2 months like I did. LOL

You can't find that size in the TSL Bias Ply or "Super Swamper" version. The closest is the 10/32-16LT size, which is 31.2 tall and 9.0 wide. To short, in my opinion.

You can get the TSL Radial in LT265/80R16 and the SSR in LT265/70R16. However, the Radial and the SSR both cost more $$$ and are not as strong as the Bias Ply.

If you are not adverse to getting 15" rims, the 32x9.5 TSL served me well and was similar to 235/85. Just a bit taller.

Tom

You can't

Jake -

There are a lot of ways to slice that pie. I am working through 33x12.5's right now. How is your vehicle currently set up?

Jake - what have you drove in the past. There seem to be two rover camps for Disco's - The 2" OME lift and 235/85 crowd or the 3"+ lift and fit some 33's - 35's under there crowd. Where do you see yourself falling?

Tom:

Thinking about RTE 2" with a body lift, and running 34 x 9.50's

You are going to want to regear and maybe get better axles for 34's.. If you have a locker you are going to really really want to get better axles.. Just things to think about that will also cost you extra money..

I have lockers already and will most likely go to 4.11's.

I think even with a 4" lift you will need to trim the back of your front fenders and maybe get an a-arm extension from RTE along with the trailing links. This will allow you to move the axle back to get the tire away from the doors. Another option is the ECR fender flares.

http://www.discoweb.org/ecrflares/index.htm

Right now, my 33's measure 33.7" tall clear the front with what I think is a very acceptable amount of trimming of the back fender: http://www.discoweb.org/route6/S_IM000024.JPG

However, as you can see, I have a front bumper that is made to be able to fit 35's, so I don't know how that would effect that situation for you.

On the rear, I was recently rubbing just a bit on the body by the back door. Not the door, but the of the body behind it. I just trimmed some off and will probably test this weekend. If that doesn't do it, I will have to move my axle back some. On the rear of the rear fender, you can see the amount of trimming that took place there. Again, my bumper had me trim off a lot of the rear quarter.

What is the actual diameter of the 34's you are going to use? And on the gearing, you may want to think about the 4.75's. I am about right on as stock with the 4.11's. I think you will notice some power loss with the 4.11's and 34's. However, the 4.75's may be to great. I am not sure if you can get something like a 4.54 for a rover diff.

Oh, and by the way, I am running the GCR rims which put my tires out about 1" away from the body. That plays a lot into the equation for rubbing in the inner fender wells or spring perches.
