I have a stock Disco II SD 2002. I'd like to mount Hella 500 Fog lights to the top of the front bumper (I don't have stock fog lights installed). My first question: Can you install these lights directly to the bumper ? I don't have a brush bar and probably won't be getting one any time soon. Also, will it be very difficult to wire to LR Fog Light switch (Atlantic British) ? Any clues on how to get this done are appreciated. Thanks. |

So far, I've got (2) suggestions from this forum. 1) drill holes and mount the lights directly to the bumper or 2) use a LR Light Bar - STC50243 (I am currently trying to locate the light bar at discountrovers.com) |

I just removed the stock bumper from a DII that had two Pia's mounted right to the top of it. The brush guard does look better though and provides a better mount Kyle |

Hey Tony, I have just installed Hella 500s on my 95' Disco. I do have a brush bar so it was easier to locate the placement of the lights. I also hooked up the lights to the factory LR fog light switch. It was kind of tricky in the start, but after the initial (triple checking) all the parts and pieces it went fairly fast. I used the wiring diagram from the tech section listed above, but you will need "Adobe" to access it. If you can read schematics or know someone how does it will go much faster. Hope this helps. P.S. I have a friend with 550 Hellas mounted directly to his front bumper (01' DII) and they look great. (theyre not connected to the factory fog light switch though.) |
