It's making all kinds of noises. Does this mean I shoud just replace it or could it be something else? Thanks, 1996 Disco |

Have you checked the fluid level? |

Mine was making that noise because it was leaking like crazy. It was a $2 hose. |

Definately don't replace it, unless you need to waste money...in that case, take it to the dealer... You can probably tell what the problem is if you watch it as someone else varies the RPMs and cuts the wheel back and forth... Brian |

I just had the hoses replaced a few months ago. I put more fluid in it and saw it leaking like crazy out of one of the connections. So much fuild everywhere it is hard to tell exacting where it is coming from. If the pump is all right is it ok to drive it say 20 miles to the dealer if it is leaking that much fluid? Thanks for your help. |

Tighten all of your PS pump hose clamps. Or, better, replace them with aircraft-style hose clamps. My '97 SD was doing the same thing and I simply replaced the cheap factory clamps with good ones--not a single drop now. This is common, and I am surprised nobody mentioned this before me. |

Oh, and check/top off your fluid. |

When tunring my steering wheel, I sometimes get a vibration like I'm turning faster than the system can do. Anyone experience this? |

try bleeding your ps system - there's a bleed screw on the box - just don't turn to much or it'll seem like Old Faithfull. |
