Rovers North doesnt carry the bosch plat. spark plugs. They indicated that they were always being returned. Is this simply a store contract issue or is there a problem with the plugs? I was under the impression that they were toprate. Comments? |

A lot of folks here don't use these babies. I don't have them in my Rover, but I do have them in my other cars. These are finicky things in the first 1000 miles. Many experience missing and such when first installing them in the first 1000 miles (I did in our 5-series) as this is common. Eventually, they "burn in" and perform very nicely. Both of our engines are running noticably smoother and the Mazda will now get to redline without a major effort. The general concensus seems to be that they're probably not worth the extra cash. |

I use the single electrode B.P. and they work fine from beginning to end. I usually replace them every year, thats about 16 - 20k miles. No problems. |

I've got plus four platinums, and haven't had a problem. I used them in my MGB and my GTi and have never had a complaint. I think they still have the garauntee that if you don't feel more power/better running you can return them. I never had to, I like them despite the high price. They also last forever. |

I use Plus Four Bosch Platinums in the D1, the Ford F250 and standard Bosch Platinums in the Suzuki Samurai (trail toy) and MG Midget. I swear by Bosch products. Have the high end Bosch wires in the D1 as well. No issues, who cares about $2 vs $4 or $5 for a spark plug. (I dont) When it comes down to it, your engine is "internal combustion" and the one thing doing the combusting is that little plug... |

I had a problem with a set a few years back. I spend hours racking my brain trying to find a hard miss at freeway speeds. I spent a few hundred dollars replacing parts that didn't need replacing. I kept thinking it can't be the plugs there only 1K old! Then one day my buddy that works at Alldata said that there was a service bulletin from Bosch that there was a few hundred thousand platinum plugs that had intermittent internal shorts. I change plugs and all missing was gone. I've never been back. I've been using NGKs and been very happy. |

Are the Bosch and NGK's available f at the local autoparts joint? I need to replace the plugs and wires on both my 1995 RR Classic and the 1997 Discovery. Ron Ward |
