I took a close look at an Nissan x-terra and it says 30 lb max on the roof rack. Is that a joke? What a useless piece of junk! It's a bit much but I have had 400 punds on my Brownchurch Rover rack. Is it as useless off road too? |

What do you think your disco is 'rated' to. You'd be suprised. Manufacturers tend to underate such features drastically for liability issues. Craig |

Including the weight of the rack, 110lbs on road and 65 off-road. Not that anyone believes that, but they have to be very careful. fwiw- Craig |

In many cases, the racks carrying capacity will be rated much higher than your owners manual will tell you the rain gutters will support. -P |

even if the factory under rates carry weight, 30 pounds is pretty damn silly. with that kind of limit, two road bicycles (much less the mountain bikes they want you to believe all x-terra mad bombers pound down the trail on) is out of the question. as stupidly big as their rail are, you should be able to carry a spare x-terra on the roof... mike |
