I want to firm up the ride on my 95 Disco. Almost all of my driving is on paved roads so I want to get something a little stiffer but I don't wanna pee blood or anything. I was thinking Bilstein shocks unless there are other suggestions? Another option is the ARB/OME spring & shock kit @ Altlantic British. Also, should I get medium or heavy duty springs? Finally, where the best (least expensive) place to get all of this? Thats enough babble for now...thanks for any input! |

If you are going to go with OME I would talk to John at http://www.expeditionexchange.com . He seems like a pretty knowledgeable guy. johnlee@expeditionexchange.com They seem to back up their products and run the stuff they sell on their rigs. My $.02 JK |

Kyle, I just installed 4 bilstein shocks last weekend, stock springs. I (my wife) drives the rig mostly on road, although we live in the mountains where we get tons of snow. I went with the bilsteins because that seemed to be the best option for those who stay mostly on the pavement. I am VERY happy with the ride, it is not harsh but you can tell the truck has much better manners, less roll.. I am very happy with them, however I can not tell you how they compare to the ome units because I have never tried them. Thats my opinion, Good Luck...JMcD |

I can tell you in about a week or so what an all around OME HD spring and shock retrofit does to a 96 SD. I just ordered it from Exbedition Exchange and John Lee was definitly very helpfull. Check back in a week or two and I will tell ya how it rides. |
