Just bought a 2002 DII Kalahari w/ the Borrego Yellow paint scheme. Other than my '95 D90, this is the tuffest Rover I have owned yet!!! : )

Any other Kalahari owners out there, if so, what do you think about your rigs? Yeah, Neah?

Me, thumbs up all around, although the usual LR "quirks" are still present, but even with a few minor things, this is one rad rig!!! As for the "quirks," nothing like a sunny afternoon and a little wrenching to get my Kalahari just right.

Will post pics tomorrow...

good deal. What am I missing? Besides the color and the front airdam/bumper what else is different about this vehicle...oh, besides those ugly wheels.

David,

I just bought my 2002 yellow Kalahari a week ago. So far I love it. I like the cloth/leather interior (easy on the butt). Its a definite head turner. Alot of times I have a few people hovering around it checking it out when i`m at a store. I even have people speed up to me on the road, and point at it and twist their necks around to check it out. I hope to run her through some trails next weekend out in Western MD. You can check out a few quick pics I put up of my Kalahari in a earlier post in the General section just follow this link ../27/1808.html"#333333">

I like the wheels. They look just like the old Hotwheels mags.

I don't know man, that kalahari rig is good lookin' but something about those wheels...maybe it'll grow on me, maybe I need to see 'em in person. It appears they stick out a bit too, maybe that's just an illusion. Does the kalahari also come with sliders?

I like those wheels. It gives you the black steel wheel look, without the steel wheels.

Something about discos and yellow, I'll never fully understand it.

Yes my Kalahari comes to me in my sleep and haunts my dreams and repeats the words "OME HD`s all around...lift me...." then I awake in a cold sweat.

Hey guys, I was able to get some pics of both my Kalahari and my '00 DII (now the wifes). After the full break-in this week, I'm hoping to get to Hollister next weekend.

Don't tell my wife, but if my Kalahari were a human woman, I'D MARRY HER!!! HAHA!

Enjoy the pics.

Last Saturday-03/30/02 I picked up my 02 Kalahari from Land Rover Charlotte. I purchased the Bonatti Grey version with rock sliders. I love Land Rovers. This is my 2nd Land Rover. I own a 98 Disco LSE.
Does anybody know if the statement at this link:
http://www.landroverpeabody.com/sales/specials.html
is True? Land Rover Peabody says that only 50 2002 Borrego Bonatti Grey Kalahari's Exist. If this is true hopefully our resale value will end up like the D90.

See you on the trails

KL:
Good luck on resale, I don't think you'll do any better than other D2s. The Kalahari has nothing special about it that folks don't enhance their rigs with anyway if they plan on doing some off-roading. The D90 is actually a unique vehicle that hasn't been this way in a few years.

KL, congratulations on your new purchase. Where are you in Charlotte? I'm actually in Matthews, but work in the South Park area. Are you going to the Uwharrie Safari the end of the month? If so, I'll see you there.

Greg Davis,

I live in N. Wilkesboro, NC. I may go to the Uwarrie Sahari, I will probably bring my 98 Disco.

Has anybody heard about this Rover:

A 2001 Kalahari in a Orange color.

Now they have one in orange? There is a white one at the dealer in town and it looks just like a Kalahari except for one thing, front qtr. panel says SD, not Kalahari. Sticker shows Kalarahi pkg. and everything. Is that normal - the two yellow ones and one gray one they have say Kalahari. Wierd?

Too bad the dealerships are not selling this version of the Kalarahi:

David,
I saw a brand spanking new yellow Kalahari with San Jose dealer plates yesterday evening in Los Gatos. Was that you?
I was going the other way in a white D1 with a roof rack, lights, etc.
