I have a '00 D2 with 34k on it. Was driving on highway yesterday and the "S"(sport) and M (Manual) indicator lights on the dash started blinking. Owner manual said to stop, turn off engine, and see if it it stopped. If not, then to seek assistance "urgently". Any news on this? My lights did go off after re-starting the truck, and I continued with no problems. Is this a warning I should be concerned about? Thanks, Jim |

Those lights flash when a fault has occured in the transmission. Since they stopped, the fault did not continue. I would take it in and have the dealer look at the problem. David C. |

If you have (or know someone) with an ODBII code reader give me the code and I'll see if I can find the reason for it. If there was a fault recorded. The code, if there, will be stored for 40 start cycles. |

mine came on once in my D2 at startup. turned the truck off, restarted, lights gone. took it to the dealer, they said the trans filter was too tight!? very odd, since it was a new truck and it would have been "too tight" from the factory. they drained the trans fluid and replaced the filter (I guess not as snug??) and there have been no problems since. |

If your Disco is automatic and you tried to start the engine not on "P" position, this will happen after starting it afterwards from "P". Turn off your engine for 15 minutes and restart (from "P") and then the both lights will stop blinking... I had the same problem, my dealer told me... |
