Anyone know how to remove the factory head unit on a 96 Disco? Tried a small allen wrench in the holes on each side, but seems to be doing nothing. Disco was jump started after sitting for a month...now I get no sound from the stereo. Correct code was entered, everyting is illuminated...but no sound! Could it be that 7.5 amp fuse on the back of the unit?

It's just a stab but easier... Try the 7.5 amp fuse on the bottom of the amp behind the glove box. Open the glove box, release the spring catches, and drop the glove box door down. Look to the right for a black box with a single white connector coming out of the bottom. The fuse is just in front of the connector. If that's not the problem, THEN try the radio fuse. Could you feel the screws turning when you tried the allen wrench in the radio holes? If not, you need to get a 5-sided removal tool. BMW and LR both seem to use these (I got mine initially for our old BMW and it works pefectly in the Disco). Good luck!
