Now that I've got 235-85's my speedo is off. This doesn't bother me. But, the coinciding effect on the odometer is a problem. My brain is starting to hurt as I try to calculate out my oil changes and services into the future. How do I fix this?

It's not off enough to worry about... you're speedometer is probably more accurate, at least mine was closer. Don't worry about the difference as far as service intervals, IMHO.

FWIW...

I tested mine out on the GPS before and after. Before the tires, the speedo showed a higher speed than actual (75 indicated vs. about 70 on GPS). After, the speedo is closer to actual (70 indicated vs. 72 actual).

Yeah, you were more off the mark with the stock tire diameter than you are with the 235/85s. I checked mine with a GPS before and after and had the same results as Mike mentioned.

In my opinion, this is of such little consequence, your money is better spent elsewhere.

I'll check it with the GPS tomorrow on a trip, but using the old mile posts on the freeway I was loosing a mile for every ten vs. my trip odom.

I too found the same, But i added an hour meter for the following reasons
@ 60 mph = 50 hours running
@ 30 mph = 100 hours running
@ 10 mph = 300 hours running
when does one change their oil???
How much traffic have you sat in???
I now change my oil every 100 hours
this does not take long at all,
Just my opinion

I timed it with my GPS. For every ten on the odom I'm getting 11 on the GPS. That could add up. And trying to get my service intervals straight could be a challange. I need the round numbers or I'll be in trouble. How hard/expensive is this fix?

I add .....
Speedo = 50 ... GPS = 52
Speedo = 70 ... GPS = 72

Tires = 245/70R16
GPS = Magellan GPS Companion PDA module
It sometimes uses 6..7 satellites

PDA = HandSpring Visor

Got the GPS after tires upgrade... so don't have the stock comparison.
