Can someone please tell me how to one turn off my Anti-Brake Light in the dash and also how to deactivate the ABS system in general. I don't think I need it and I've replaced the sensors once already at a cost of $1100 at Land Rover of Rockville ,MD.

Also if anyone is in the Maryland area and would be willing to meet up with me to help me do this that would be great as well

Any help would be appreciated.

I disconnected the ABS pump and pulled the light out of the dash...problem solved ;-)

I'm having a problem with my ABS. I just removed the 5 AMP fuse and that deactivated the system, but the light with then go on as well as the CHECK ENGINE light

Pull the plug of the ABS unit under the hood, then remove the bulb from the dash. Theres no other way to get the light off and de-activate the system

I just saw this thread and was wondering if anyone knows how to find out which sensor is faulty when the anti-lock light stays on? I have read elsewhere that one should push down on the sensors, but that doesn't work. I would like to use my ABS system. Are anti-lock ECU's expensive? thanks

Are ABS ECUs expensive? Yes. How do you check sensors? With an oscilloscpoe (actually a simple continuity check with a multimeter would tell you a lot).

There is a diagnostic connector under the dash near the fuel injection ECU that you can jump the terminals on and get "flash" codes like old GM diagnostic stuff. What those codes mean I've never known :)

I just replaced my sensors myself for under 400 dollars the sensors cost me $75 a piece that I got from the dismantlers and the front sensors are easy to put on. If your abs light is on check and see if there is a little rubber seal around them if not it allows are to leak in and will keep the light on.

Brad, that's the trouble. it's my anti-lock light that's on, not the ABS. Also, what are the "dismantlers"? sounds like a good place to get sensors as the cheapest I can find are $225. thanks
