For my stock disco xd do I need to buy a whole new bumper to put a winch on or is there a way to do it with what I have |

You can't put a winch on a stock bumper, it is not strong enough. If you want to retain the stock look, you may want to consider getting one of Kyle's bumpers with an integrated stock brush bar. |

AAron, go to http://www.dap-inc.com/acc_frm.htm and look at their winch accessories. There is something called a winch plate. Very stock looking. |

Rick, If I could ever get my D-1 out of the shop I'll let you know. I have a welder standing by to make a similar one. Since I want to use my factory brush bar, I have to have a winch plate made that is about 1/2 inch narrower. The brush bar and the winch plate bolt to the same area on the frame. The only negative thing that I have heard about this setup is that it is not as strong as a heavy duty bumber. Since I'm having one made, I'm going to beef things up a bit. I hope it will be as strong. |
