Thinking about purchasing one... just wondering how you like yours. I've found two, both around 7k miles and $30,000. How are the seats holding up? Do you miss the lack of armrests? Also, it doesn't look like they have the heated seats. I know that SEs have the heating elements in the heated seats, but not the SDs. From what it looks like, LEs don't have the elements, either. Anyone done the heated seat install on an LE? Thanks! |

Check www.disco2.com for an article on how to insert the heating elements in the seats.. |

I did the write-up for Disco2.com when I installed the heater elements in the seats in my SD. I would imagine that the process would not unlike mine. Just be sure to order the appropriate heater elements. If the LE has manually adjustable seats, the heater elements are different than the ones that are electrically adjustable. HTH |

I posted this to another message, but it may apply if you're looking to buy: If you're looking to buy, I had a great experience buying from a broker in Florida. They buy and ship around the country. I paid $18,835 (plus tax, tag title = $20,500) for a 1998 LSE with dual air, jump seats, Lighstone leather interior, etc. I have no ties to them, other than I was so pleased with them that I would be happy to recommend them. Email me @ [email protected] if you want their contact info. Oh, by the way, the truck had 43k miles and still under the factory bump-to-bump warranty. The credit union valued the truck @ $26,800. So, I financed the actual cost, plus the cost of a new bump-to-bump warranty from LR, so now I am warranteed to 100,000 miles! John K. Tampa, FL |

I have one that has 16,000 miles on it now. I like mine a lot. If I had to do it over again, I would buy the same truck. You don't see many LEs compared to SDs or SEs. I've changed a few things since the photos in the gallery. I've added 265/70 Cooper STTs on steel wheels for off-road use, RTE rock sliders and 2" springs. There is no sign of any wear on the leather/cloth seats. I preferred this interior over the full leather of the SE. Also liked the LE alloys. Greg Braswell |

check out carmax.com. My brother in law just bought a 2001 disco SD from them with 6000k miles for $27,000. I checked it out and it is flawless. He is in the DC market and alot of people that bought nice cars and got layed off due to 9/11 challenges immediately dumped their cars and began using the subway again. There are some great deals and still under warranty. good luck and make sure you get records if the mileage is higher. |
