Anyone running the behemoth 240s on a Disco I? I've heard nothing but good things about them and just ordered a pair. But, excuse me for getting caught up in aesthetics, the 9.7" diameter is a little daunting.

I'd love to see a pic if anyone's got one.

Look in the members section for Jay Allen. He's running 3 of the 240s on his Disco. I have 2 of the 240s on the front of my RR. Just used them tonight again in the forest. Awesome lights.

Not sure if Jay Allen is the chap from Delaware but this gentleman I met at the ROVERS Trials last November had the Lightforce lights mounted on a modified RTE bumper and they looked solid. He said that he was very happy with them.

I know Perrone is happy with his and I hope that this thread doesn't degrade like the Lightforce thread we had in the fall.

Jay is in southern California. And this thread is due to self destruct shortly. I hope that the opinions expressed here by someone who actually owns a set will be given its due weight.

For what it's worth, I've not yet spoken to anyone who owns a pair of these lights who doesn't love them.

What's the joke, Kyle? Are these Lightforce lights not as tough as they say?

But if they are on a roof rack...and a tree hits it...no more light...and all the $ is wasted (trust me....ive now broken 2 Hella 1000's, which are now duct taped on, look in my photo gallery)...but they will be replaced very soon with some metal lights....

Hey Will,

I can vouch for broken plastic AND metal lights...

In your gallery you say you removed the resonator on the D1. That's the rear-most "muffler" the tail pipe is attached to. Looks like yours is still in tact. Just curious. You still on for Tellico next weekend?

Will,

I have smacked the HELL out of my Lightforce lights and they are none the worse for wear. In a year of hard trail use (in the woods) they are unscathed.

Kyle can tease or complain all he wants, the facts are the lights are tough as hell. I've never known anyone to break one. Rod Hall is running 6 or 8 on his SCORE racing team Hummer and has for the last 2 years. He has no complaints either.

Ron,
True, but the plastic will break before the metal in most cases....Yep...still in for tellico...i thought it was the weekend of the 19th,20th,21st, not next weekend...am i wrong? took out the resonator in february or march, and those pics are from late january, so thats why its still on there.
Perrone,
I've never seen any lightforce lights up close, so i dont know much about their strength...so i guess i am wrong...

Plastic Breaks
Metal Rusts

It's easier to not wack em
Then it is to not let em get wet
Just my opinion

Depends on where you wheel
Your choice

If you have a tendency to bash into things with your front end, maybe your lights aren't your biggest concern! Just a thought
