On a lark, I dropped a message off to Michelin to see why their XL/XZL series of tires was so hard to get in the US. I got a phone call at home while at work yesterday from a Robert Horton/Harton in Customer Relations at Michelin. Evidently, their factory in France is making a run of tires and a portion are slated for the US. He asked that I call 1-800-847-3435 (option 1) and leave my contact information and that I was interested in part # 97601. I don't know the price, or sizes, but I'm curious to see what's available. I'm running XCL's on my IIA in 7.5R16. They are noisy at speeds (not that I notice in the Series), but handle well on the street and really well in the dirt. The XZL's replace the older XCL's. |
