Would anyone have a picture of either front or rear differential, had both pinion seals changed and invoice of parts replaced stated seal and mud shield; seal is clearly visible ,what is the mud shield supposed to look like on these things?I do not see one.On other vehicles there is usually a metal flange that protects the seal. thanks in advance.(By the way, work was done at a LR dealer.) |

Well after unsuccesfully trying to replace mine last night. I believe what you are looking at is actually the mud shield and the oil seal is behind that. Now, anyone know how to remove the centering pin on a rotoflex equipped truck w/o the special LR tool? |

It took me 2 hours and 3 cold chisels to get mine out. It is tapped for an 8mm(i think) screw, but I broke 3 grade 8 bolts before I gave up on the slide hammer thing and went for the chisel and hammer method. The LR tool is basicaly a slide hammer, but the steel plug is an "interference fit" which means the hole is the same diam. as the plug. Good Luck. |

I made a puller out of a harmonic balancer puller.I used 3 pcs.of all thread rod about 5.5inches long.Put a nut on each side of the puller, then put 1 nut on the other end of the rod. This nut stops the puller from moving to the centering pin.I used a 3.5 inch long 8mm bolt to pull with.I will try to post some pics soon. You must heat the pin and pull while its hot.
