Someone mentioned this a couple weeks ago, did he try it?

Some guys have full wiring harnesses availible who have removed factory system, this would be easiest way to reroute the changer wiring, as I am sure all the wiring running from the dash to the seats (CD, window controls, ECU) are bundled.

Let me know hows it goes! PICS!

I moved the cd player to the glove box recently...it was not a difficult procedure. i retrofitted all of the existing mounting hardware and just extended the wires from below the rear seat ashtray. when you do it, just make sure that the player is mouted high enough to allow the magazine to slide past the latch. also remember to open up the case of the cd changer itself, and adjust its suspension springs for 45degree mounting, or else the player will skip more than an 8yr old at recess. hope that helps - i will try to post a picture

thanks for the praise guys - but it was really easy...try just straightening out the left mountiung bracket with a vise and a hammer(the two tools that fix most anything on a rover) and drill two holes on the left side of the glove box, then use a short(less than 1/2 inch) machine screw to atach just the rear hole of the right side bracket and it wont poke through the front of the door. before you drill any holes, make sure the changer is aligned properly - the changer should be about level with the ground when the door is open, and around 45 degrees when closed. also, to make things easy for wiring, you dont need to unscrew the glove box to get behind it, just lift the little spring loaded arms on either side of the box with some force until it will pull forward
let me know if you have any more questions

i also have a nice subwoofer configuration for one of the rear cubby boxes that is alot simpler to make than any others i have seen, and doesnt protrude from the side at all - i will post pictures as soon as i get time

I recently purchased a used LR CD player off E-Bay. I went to install it yesterday and was got the "err" message on the radio display. Any ideas why?

Yeah. When the CD Magazine is not inserted I get a "NO" on the radio display. When I place the magazine in it goes through the disks and then the "ERR" message shows. I even thought that I was maybe putting the discs in wrong but I have tried face up and face down, but no go either way. But thanks for the advise.

You may have the discs upside down. Flip them over and try again... Or it could need to be cleaned - take the unit out, remove the cover and clean the glass lens.

I have tried the CDs both ways. I have tried unhooking the battery and then resetting the code on the radio. I even opened it up to see if there was a maybe a CD stuck in there. I am at a complete lose. Does anyone know how much a LR dealer would chegre to install it? I hate to do this, it seems like it should be so simple.

Mike, this is a long shot, but do you have the correct changer? DI's & DII's used different P/N's.
