Where do these come from?

Is it two different metals or is the lighting just making it look that way?

Yeah, Perrone, they are going to tell you their supplier. I'll leave that up to Ron to find out...

Tell me their supplier? I don't care who their supplier is. I just wanted to know if Kyle (KVT) is making these up, or sourcing them.

Simon, no comment on your overreaction...

Ok sorry Simon...

So has anyone actually seen one of these in the flesh? I just went to expedition exchange and it looks like these things are either using two different metals or the mount areas are polished.

Anyone know the scoop?

Why my stupidity? You think EE is making these things themselves?

Thanks Ho.. thats what it looked like from the EE pics, but I wasn't sure. They look pretty stout. Should come as a relief to ARB owners looking to get of those dumb recovery points hanging off the bottom!

Ho,

They look lke the rear Nato lifting rings for Series LR's. Not JATE rings, but the lifting rings that fit inside the bumperettes. I think the bolt pattern is different though...

Great looking recovery point and very versitile, although they lack the sex of the D-rings

A 3 ton rating sounds about perfect.

Moe, this is what you put the d-rings on. You just have to slide them through the hole to attach. Plenty of sex action there.

Well, I just sent John a bunch of pictures of those recovery points mounted on the KVT -- some pics with 3/4 inch shackles on those rings, some without the shackles.

Michael

And yes, they are one piece of metal. Difference is only in the finish.

...it looks like they flattened the surface with a CNC lathe to create a more uniform fit with the mounting hardware. Makes sense if you think about the loads that might be working it.

Here are a couple competitors. The first sells the same thing the second sells a different version. I found one place that sells the one EE sells for $35 a pair but I am not sharing, you should buy from Ho and John Lee or do your own CB research.

And don't go just bolting these things up. You need some serious beef behind them or you are going to bend the bumper you mount them too.
