this may sound odd but
until i get another set of rims and tires of the same size can i run

16" rims on the front w/ 245/75 tires
and 15" rims in the rear w/ 31x12.50's

i'm goin ridin monday and i've got the chance to buy some 15" rims and some boggers and i wanna put them on to go riding on monday
will this mess anything up or what

Don't do it. The difference in the diameters will wreak havoc on your center diff. With our full-time 4wd systems, you MUST have teh same diameter tires both front and rear. Wait until you can match up your tire sizes.

Measure the tires. If they're within 1% of each other's static loded diameter, then just run them. You can play with inflation pressure to get them even or to within 1%. I think the 2 sizes are very close but it very much depends on the tire manufacturers, so best way is to measure. Also, if your ride is just few miles, I would not worry about it much.

That was supposed to read static loaded radius not diameter but it does not really matter. Basically measure from the floor to the center of the hub with the vehicle parked on level surface.
