Ive seen posts that discuss pulling the rear fender out instead of trimming in order to accommodate larger tires. Can anyone explain or illustrate this procedure? |

I know trimming sounds bad, I was scared to do it also, but it really isn't to noticeable. I bet most people who aren't looking for it would even know. Take a look at Sam Yu's truck. At least with 235/85's the trim job isn't bad at all. |

Locate the bolt on the bottom of the rear quarterpanel...it will be about an inch behind the mud flap. Unbolt your quarterpanel and using a 4 x 5/8 mending brace and the origingal quarter panel bolt attatch the mending brace to your quarterpanel. Then using the third hole of the mending brace and a new bolt attach it to the original fender brace. This will move your quarter panel out about 2 inches, enough to fit 265/75/r16 tyres with no problem. The whole procedure will take about 10 min. per side. |

Todd pretty much has it there. Or you can just redrill the three holes that hold the liner in and scoot the whole thing over a little... Kyle |

The first time I trimed was to accomodate the 235/85s with a small lift, the second time was to accomodate the 265/80 with a 2" lift, and 2 days ago i trimmed everything because I could not stand hitting those shitty aluminum pieces everytime "high country" was available. The trim job was nice and usefull, as the day after I went over a HUGE gully and now all that hits is my rear NATO hitch. Nadim with 'trimmed' Disco |
