Can someone to me in detail how to remove and install front rotors on a 1994 discovery please. Im trying to do install the rotors myself. If it is not to difficult. Need to be very explicit step by step I am not mechanically inclined. Please do not take anything for granted. |

I think your first step would to buy a shop manual. The money your saving by DIY brakes will more than pay for the factory manual. |

Answer is here: http://www.spanishtrailrovers.com/Tech/Maintain/Wheel_Bearing_Replacement/wheel_bearing_replacement.html While this says wheel bearing replacement, the procedure is exactly the same to change the rotor except when you pull the hub off the spindle, you'll unbolt the rotor instead of pulling the bearing. I'm not sure on the 94 Disco, but the rotor on my 91RR is held on by 15mm 12 point bolts. You'll want to have a set of 12 point sockets on hand before getting started. -P |

- '94 Disco Depending on how many miles on it, I'd suggest you replace wheel bearings and hub seals while you're at it. Especially if is been a while since they were serviced. No sense to go back in there later. Especially if you'll be off road this Spring or Summer. Get the workshop manual!!! Tom P. |

Yea Tom's right. You might as well change those wear items while you're in there. Be sure to have access to a shop press though, as getting those bearing races off the hub can be tough! And get the shop manual as he and Robert suggested. The money you save doing this project on your own will certainly pay for it. -P |

P-, 1/2" brass stock and a hammer - the races come right out. Reverse to put new ones in. Just watch your thumbs. Waiting for the Series WS manuals to arrive. It's next... Tom P. |

That didn't work for me. I had to have mine pressed out. And the guy I had over to help me get the races out had been doing them with a drift for 20 years. I guess I was just unlucky. Or maybe that one was just problematic because it had seized. That was my infamous wheel bearing failure. -P |

The bearings are in the hub, and the rotor bolts to the hub. You cannot remove the rotor, without first removing the hub. If you consult the page I gave you the URL to, you will see the process step by step, as well as a diagram of how everything fits together. -P |
